Geographic Access Restriction
The headline feature in this release is Global Access Restriction, a new security control for customers that do not choose to use global resources. Administrators enable the restriction at the tenant or organization level, and NetScribe enforces it automatically by verifying each user’s IP address against the customer’s designated country. Users outside the permitted region are blocked from seeing the files entirely.
For courts, government agencies, and law enforcement organizations that require domestic-only handling of their content, this removes the guesswork and manual oversight. The restriction is always on, always enforced.
Email Transcript Delivery
NetScribe now supports sending completed transcripts by email directly from the platform — per job, to one or more recipients. When integrated with an ordering system, recipient addresses are populated automatically. Administrators can also enter addresses manually when needed. It’s a straightforward addition that eliminates the download-and-forward step many teams currently rely on.
Smarter Cover Page Setup
For legal customers especially, cover pages matter. NetScribe 4.5.0 can now automatically populate cover page fields from ordering system metadata — including boolean fields that previously required manual entry. Less manual setup, fewer errors, faster turnaround.
What’s Next
The next release brings advanced job costing — support for multiple rates per end user, which will improve invoicing clarity and audit trails. We’re also working on making FirstDraft transcripts available directly to courts and litigants, part of VIQ’s ongoing commitment to improving access to justice globally.
