This update introduces improvements to export functionality, a downtime notification banner for scheduled release alerts, an auto-save feature in the NSC editor, and new editing tools like find and replace, list formatting, tabbing, and capitalization shortcuts.
We received good feedback from one of our law enforcement customers about the editing experience in NetScribe Connect, so we made editor enhancements in addition to adding an auto save. Support also gave us feedback about issues with the export of data from the Job List and User List, so we fixed that. To make it easier to notify customers about downtime and releases, we also added a downtime notification, which puts a scrolling information bar at the top of the screen. This is a great leap forward in helping VIQ communicate releases and downtime.
One other piece of feedback we received was that there were many law offices and law enforcement agencies who still use digital recorders. We are creating a utility to be able to automatically pull the audio files from the recorder, upload them to NetScribe Connect, and delete them from the recorder. We’ll provide more information as the utility nears release. In addition, we are working on making it possible to use a foot pedal with the editor in NetScribe Connect. This will allow small self-editing entities the ability to edit with a foot pedal. This is also a highly anticipated feature for the global resellers.
And finally, we have also started on the foundational database work to allow for court ordering in NetScribe Connect. We have already started moving some of the invoiced court customers in the UK onto the platform. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to achieve a global court ordering portal, but we are on our way!
What’s in the Release:
- Job and User List Export Improvements.
- Previously, you could only export one page of data at a time and if you filtered out specific information on the Job List or User List, it was not keeping the filter when it exported. Both of these are fixed.
- Downtime Notification Banner.
- It was getting increasingly difficult to ensure that all customers were notified about releases. The developers added a downtime notification area where a super admin, hot admin, or tenant admin can program the date and time of a release and also add messages.
- The release notes will be added and accessible through the end user portrait area.
- Auto Save in the NSC Editor.
- The editor in NSC did not have an auto save. Feedback from customers was that they cannot always remember to save and did not want to lose something if they had to step away, so a 90 second auto save feature was added.
- New Editing Features in the NSC Editor.
- Find and replace. A find and replace was added to the right click menu. Please note – this is separate from the browser based find and replace.
- Bulleted and numbered lists. These were also added to the right click menu.
- Tabbing. The tab on the keyboard now works in the editor.
- Capitalizing a whole work or multiple words. If you have the cursor anywhere on the word and hit CTRL+SHIFT+U it will all caps the word. If you select multiple words and use the hotkey it will capitalize all of the words at once.
- Bug Fixes.
- There were 7 production bugs fixed in this release.
The release will be pushed to the LE NSC system on Monday, November 4th. If everything is stable, it will be pushed to the other systems within 1-2 weeks following that.
