NetScribe® Connect is built for attorneys, law enforcement officers, insurance adjusters, court administrators, and anyone else whose recordings have to become documents. You upload the file, say what you need, and track the job until the finished transcript comes back.
There is nothing to install and no recorder to configure. NetScribe Connect runs in the browser, and recordings reach it however they were captured: uploaded from your desktop, recorded directly in the portal, or sent from MobileMic Pro™, VIQ’s mobile recording app.

Returns an automated speech-to-text draft, typically within minutes, at up to 95% accuracy. Speakers are identified and labeled, and the speech engines are trained on industry vocabulary, so drafts arrive closer to final. Choose it when you need the content fast and verbatim is not required.
Routes the same file to VIQ’s transcription team, who deliver a formatted document at 99% accuracy. Choose it when the transcript has to hold up: litigation, evidentiary records, the file of record.
You select the level for each job. A detective’s field notes can run as automated drafts while the interview that anchors the case gets professional treatment.
Add speaker names, translation options, and turnaround preferences at order time, and attach supporting documents with notes for whoever works the file.
The Job List shows every pending and completed order, with filters by date, job ID, author, or up to ten custom fields. Completion timestamps show exactly when VIQ finished each file, and jobs can be placed on hold, pausing the turnaround clock until missing information arrives.
Generate an estimate in the portal and send it to Sales with the case number. Orders can wait on client approval, and the approved quote attaches to the order.
Capture audio or dictate single-speaker notes directly in NetScribe Connect with the computer’s microphone. Audio saves locally in 10-second segments as you record, so a dropped connection or power loss costs you seconds, not the session.
Upload multiple files at once, up to 4 GB each. Combine several recordings into one transcript or keep one transcript per file. A desktop uploader can also pull audio automatically from a docked digital recorder.
Playback stays synchronized with the transcript: click any word and the recording jumps to that moment. Users with edit permission can revise drafts in the portal editor, with auto-save, find and replace, and foot pedal support for hands-free playback.
A permissioned requestor can open a transcript request without a recording, tracked through estimate, approval, and payment, so the turnaround clock starts only when the work can actually begin.
Automated translation covers 6 languages; professional translation services cover 75+.
A finished transcript can run long. NetScribe Connect can summarize any completed transcript, automated or professionally edited, on demand: pick one of up to four presets your administrator configures (“summarize in bullet form,” “300 words or less”), or write your own instructions if your administrator has turned them on. Summaries copy to the clipboard or download as a Word document, and every summarization is recorded in the job’s audit trail.
Summarization is optional and runs only on the finished transcript, so the decision to summarize stays with you, per document.

Courts and law enforcement need more than a transcript: they need to show where the file has been. Every job in NetScribe Connect carries an audit trail recording each event’s action, time, result, and type, viewable in the portal and searchable by administrators: a chain of custody from upload to delivery.
The same discipline applies to the platform itself:
No. NetScribe® is the production platform VIQ’s transcription team uses; NetScribe Connect is the portal you use. Files you submit land in the same pipeline VIQ’s transcription team works in, and finished documents return to the portal you ordered from. For most customers, NetScribe Connect is the only screen they ever see.
If your organization runs its own internal transcription team, the product to look at is NetScribe itself: the full production platform this portal feeds. Your requestors still submit through NetScribe Connect. An open API and SFTP also connect NetScribe Connect to case management, claims, and records platforms.
No. Summaries are generated inside VIQ’s secure cloud environment. Your prompts and the summaries they produce are never used to train or improve third-party foundation models, and are never shared with external model providers.
Most digital audio and video formats upload directly. VIQ can convert many others, including analog sources like cassettes; a small processing fee may apply for formats that need conversion. If your recordings play, we can almost certainly take them; ask us about your format.
Fifteen minutes with our team and your own recording is enough to see how NetScribe Connect fits your workflow.
